Support & Resources
Independent help, listed before anything commercial.
Why this page comes first
If you are here because something has stopped feeling manageable, the useful thing is a real person, not a link that pays us. This page is the free and independent routes, and nothing on it is a partner placement.
How to use it
Start with the resource closest to what you are actually dealing with. You do not need to be in crisis to use any of them, and you do not need to have a diagnosis, a label, or a tidy explanation of what is going on.
What we cannot do
We cannot assess you, refer you, or intervene. We publish education and self-reflection material, and we point at the people who do the rest.
If you are in immediate danger
Contact your local emergency number. A website is the wrong tool for an emergency, and there is no version of this page that changes that.
- American Psychological Association — healthy relationships — Independent, research-backed material on communication and closeness in relationships.
- Gottman Institute — research on couples — Decades of observational research on what actually predicts closeness and conflict in couples, summarised in plain language.
- American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy — therapist locator — A free, independent directory of licensed couples and family therapists.
- Psychology Today therapist directory — A free directory you can filter by specialism, including couples counselling.
Nothing on this page is a partner link, on any page of this site.
